The renowned Iraqi jewelry designer, Shajan Al-Jumaili, said that the Arab market is strong, but it lacks the courage to make a serious change and chose innovative ideas.

This gap, in combination with weak oversight, has led to flooding gold markets with imitated gold artifacts, and instead of fair competition based on quality and innovation, imitation leads to a decrease in creativity, Al-Jumaili told Sada El-bald English (SEE).

She added that the Iraqi market is large, but the citizens lack confidence in its gold products, which are deemed to be in a poor state, due to unfair competition by some merchants, and the absence of government oversight, noting that customers prefer the imported product.

Al-Jumaili explained that the global markets depend entirely on 3D printing, because it is the most powerful and fast approach, and that makes it easier for the jeweler to produce many pieces in a short time, as well as diversity in choosing ideas and models.

She indicated that she went to teach jewelry design curricula, with the aim to benefit and help Iraqi and Arab designers in this field, especially 3D printing techniques.
