The head of the Egyptian Gold and Precious Metals Division of the Federation of Industries and his accompanying delegation visited Uzbekistan, at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the aim of promoting investments between the two countries in the gold and jewelry industry.

Ehab Wasef, Head of the Division, said that the visit includes visiting gold mines, gold and jewelry companies, viewing investment opportunities in Uzbekistan and discussing ways of cooperation in the gold and jewelry sector.

He added that the Egyptian companies possess expertise and capabilities in the field of manufacturing gold artifacts, and they can benefit from the stock of gold mines in Uzbekistan, and convert it into artifacts for exportatiom, under joint trademarks, as Uzbekistan is one of the largest producers of gold ore around the world and owns about 63 mines.

Wasef pointed out that Egypt is one of the most important markets in Africa and the Middle East region, in the light of the support and facilities provided by the Egyptian government during the era of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to investors in the gold sector, by establishing the first gold city in the administrative capital.
