The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace took part in launching the “Solidarity for the Future” initiative, held under the theme “Scientific Research Cannot Wait,” at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo.
The event brought together representatives of regional and international organizations, along with experts and researchers, under the patronage of the Arab League and its Secretary-General, Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
Council President Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan said the initiative marks a significant regional effort to support countries affected by conflict by empowering scientific institutions and safeguarding research communities. He stressed that lasting peace requires rebuilding educational and scientific capacities and enabling researchers to continue contributing to knowledge and development.
Al Jarwan called for expanding joint Arab research grants, strengthening training opportunities for young scholars, and enhancing cooperation between universities and research centers. He reaffirmed the council’s readiness to partner with institutions to advance peace, security and sustainable development through knowledge and science.
