Get to Know more about New White House Residents

The White House finally received its new residents after the official inauguration of Joe Biden became officially the new US President, so who are the new residents of the place?

Starting with the new President, Joe Biden, the 78-year-old president started his career in the political scene in America at the age of 29.

In 1965, he graduated from the University of Delaware and he served as a Senator for the state of Delaware from 1973 to 2009 when he was elected as a Vice-President.

He has run for the presidency twice before, in 1988 and in 2008.

In 1966, he married his colleague Neilia and the couple had three children, Joseph ‘Beau’ Biden III, Robert ‘Hunter’ Biden, and Naomi Biden.

In 1972, Neilia and the new-born Naomi died in a tragic car accident. While in 1977, Biden got married to his second wife, Dr. Jill Biden.

As Senator, he served as chairman of the Committee on Foreign Relations, sponsored the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act, opposed the First Gulf War, and criticized the handling of the Iraq War.

He was awarded by former US President Barack Obama the Presidential Medal of Freedom with distinction for his work on behalf of the country.

The 46th President is the second US Catholic President after John F. Kennedy.

Moving to Dr. Jill Biden, she was born in 1951 and studied English at the University of Delaware.

She got married to Bill Stevenson at age 20. However, the couple porced after the marriage for 3 years.

In 1977, she got married to the senator and had one daughter Ashley.

The 69-year-old holds a master's in education, another master's in English, and a doctorate in education.

Dr. Biden was the first Second Lady to keep her full-time job while her husband served in the White House and is expected to continue breaking with tradition by working while she serves as First Lady from today.

As Second Lady, she accompanied Michelle Obama during traveling and working to support their project that supports military families.

It’s expected that she will play a key role in the education field and supporting American families.

The couple has only one daughter, Ashly. She is a philanthropist and social worker.

She served as the executive director of the non-profit Delaware Center for Justice and also founded her own clothing company, Livelihood, in 2017. She got married to Howard Krein.

On the other hand, there is Hunter Biden, who is the only alive son from Biden's marriage to Neilia after the death of his brother, Beau, due to Cancer. Also, Beau was a close friend to his college colleague Kamala Harris.

Hunter is considered a controversial figure due to his personal life.

He graduated from Georgetown University in 1992 and Yale School of Law in 1996.

He worked in banking and co-founded a federal lobbying firm and went on to help create a network of investment and consulting firms before joining the Navy Reserves in 1993. He was discharged due to addiction.

He got married to Melissa Cohen.

Biden family has five grandchildren: Naomi, who used to post funny family moments of her grandfather, Finnegan, Maisy, Natalie, Robert, who is the younger son of the departed Beau.

On the other hand, the Biden family welcomed a new baby boy called Beau Biden to carry the title of the youngest member in the first family and rise the number of Biden's grandchildren to six.

Furthermore, the Bidens have two German shepherds, Champ and Major. It is expected, the couple would adopt a cat which will be the first cat to live in the White House.
