Among the participating Royal members are the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh. They will attend a Coronation Big Lunch in Cranleigh, Surrey.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, the daughters of Prince Andrew,  will also attend a big lunch in Windsor.

The Eden Project, the organizer of the big lunch, said: "The Big Lunch brings neighbours and communities together to share friendship, food and fun. Get your free pack and start planning something to look forward to!"

It added: "This year you can be part of history and join millions across the UK, and further afield, with a Coronation Big Lunch on 6-8 May, or join the fun in June and plan your Big Lunch as part of the Month of Community."

King Charles and Camilla, Queen Consort officially chose a coronation quiche as the dish for the Big Lunch.

It will include ingredients such as spinach, broad beans, cheese, and tarragon.

It was is described on the website of the royal family as"a deep quiche with a crisp, light pastry case and delicate flavors of spinach, broad beans and fresh tarragon. Eat hot or cold with a green salad and boiled new potatoes – perfect for a Coronation Big Lunch!"

Three official recipes were also released to give the people more variety.

The first is a roast rack of lamb, complete with an Asian-style marinade and is made by Chinese chef Ken Hom.

Coronation aubergine was created by Nadiya Hussain, whose recipe includes a yoghurt and chutney dressing, along with fried onions.

For dessert, renowned chef Adam Handling created a zingy strawberry and ginger trifle.
