German Foreign Minister (FM) Johann Wadephul confirmed that his country will not participate in any military operations against Iran, emphasizing that the German government has no intention of engaging in such confrontations.
Speaking to Deutschlandfunk radio on Monday, Wadephul stated, "We have no intention of participating."
Moreover, Wadephul explained that unlike Britain, which allowed the United States to use its regional bases to target Iranian missiles and launchers, Germany does not possess similar military bases in the region.
"Furthermore, we do not possess the appropriate military means, and the Federal Republic of Germany does not intend, under any circumstances, to participate in any way," he added.
The German FM noted that German soldiers deployed abroad retain the right to self-defense if attacked, stressing that this is strictly limited to a defensive capacity and that Germany will not take any measures beyond that scope.
It is worth mentioning that, German military units are currently stationed in both Jordan and Iraq.
