Germany has delivered nearly 100 military vehicles to Ukraine’s police and National Guard units to bolster public order and safeguard vital infrastructure across the war-torn nation.
Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko expressed gratitude to German Ambassador to Ukraine Martin Jäger, emphasizing that the vehicles would enhance law enforcement's operational capabilities, help protect civilians from crime, and secure essential infrastructure.
Klymenko acknowledged the challenges posed by the ongoing war, highlighting that Germany’s support enables quicker and more professional responses to emerging threats.
German Ambassador Jäger underscored the importance of collaboration with Ukraine’s Interior Ministry, stating that the National Guard and police play a critical role in maintaining security during Ukraine’s continued conflict with Russia.
He noted that the vehicles represent just one component of Germany’s broader support for Ukraine’s security apparatus.
In addition to the vehicles, Germany has provided Ukraine’s police forces with computer equipment and protective gear throughout 2024, demonstrating a robust partnership between the two nations.
