Germany has delivered 63 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza over the past three days (December 18–20). Four planes carrying critical supplies arrived in Egypt and were offloaded at Al-Arish Airport in North Sinai.

The shipment, which includes 552 family tents, 110 sleeping mats, and 550 thermal covers, aims to support Gaza’s residents amidst ongoing humanitarian challenges.

German Ambassador to Egypt, Jürgen Schulz, traveled to North Sinai to oversee the delivery process. During his visit, he met with North Sinai Governor Major General Khaled Mogaweer to discuss the situation and coordinate efforts to ensure the aid reaches those in need as quickly as possible.

The aid, provided by the German Red Cross, has been handed over to the Egyptian Red Crescent for logistical management. The supplies will be transported to Gaza, where the Palestinian Red Crescent will oversee distribution to families and individuals in urgent need.

Germany’s humanitarian commitment to Gaza and the broader region remains steadfast. Earlier this month, German Minister of State Tobias Lindner highlighted the country’s efforts during the Gaza Conference, emphasizing Germany’s significant contributions:

"Since the beginning of this crisis, Germany has increased its humanitarian aid to the Palestinian territories to more than €300 million. We have also supplied Egypt with over €3 million in medicines and medical equipment to treat Palestinian patients. By the end of this year, Germany will have delivered nearly €700 million in humanitarian aid to the Near and Middle East, making us one of the region’s largest humanitarian donors."

Lindner’s words have been matched by action, as seen in Germany’s collaboration with key international and regional partners. Ambassador Schulz expressed gratitude for the efforts of the German Red Cross, the Egyptian Red Crescent, the Palestinian Red Crescent, and the Egyptian government. Their dedication, he said, has been vital in ensuring aid reaches Gaza’s residents during this critical time.

Germany’s actions provide immediate relief and reaffirm its commitment to addressing the long-term needs of those affected by the ongoing crisis. As the year draws to a close, this effort underscores the importance of international cooperation in alleviating human suffering and supporting the resilience of vulnerable communities.
