Der Spiegel magazine reported that Germany plans to send another large batch of military equipment to Ukraine, estimated at 2.7 billion euros.

According to the magazine, the delivery will take place in the coming weeks and months. It is planned to send an additional 20 Marder infantry fighting vehicles, 30 Leopard 1 tank, 200 unmanned reconnaissance aircraft, logistics vehicles, IRIS-T air defense systems, as well as ammunition to Kyiv.

The magazine expects that the new aid package will be announced on Sunday, in parallel with the awarding of the Charlemagne Prize by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Aachen. Where he is likely to come to Germany, on the other hand, the visit has not been officially reported.

In the first quarter of 2023, the German government approved the supply of military goods to Ukraine for a total amount of approximately 497 million euros.

On January 25, the German Cabinet confirmed that it would send Ukraine 14 Leopard 2 tanks and issue permits to other countries to re-export these vehicles. In February, the German Cabinet approved the delivery of 178 Leopard 1A5 tanks to Kyiv.

Germany also decided to provide Kyiv with four more pieces of equipment from the stocks of the German armed forces.
