The German Ambassador in Cairo Cyrill Nunn inspected the facilities of the German University for following up the construction and equipment that has been ended according to the latest international systems.The inspection came as summer courses started at the new headquarters. The Ambassador's tour included visiting the university site, buildings, classrooms, offices and meeting rooms, as well as laboratories and seminars.

Nunn expressed his admiration and pride in the facilities and equipment in the university. This was followed by an expanded meeting around the students and researchers’ lives as well as the most important visitors to the headquarters. In addition, a presentation for the summer session work was held in the following fields: artificial intelligence, robotics, machine learning, and virtual reality.

Later, the German International University for Applied Sciences (GIU AS) announced the completion of the first phase of its headquarters in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital.The university explained that it considers the headquarters a symbol of German-Egyptian friendship. Noteworthy, the Egyptian Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministry signed an agreement with an alliance of 11 German universities to establish ‘GIU AS’ in the New Administrative Capital. This came during a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and German Chancellor Angela Merkel in October 2018, part of a framework of scientific cooperation between the two countries.
