In a new step toward its official opening, the Grand Egyptian Museum received 163 pieces from the treasures of the golden king Tutankhamun, from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir.
Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy was keen to inspect a number of these pieces during his visit to the museum's restoration laboratory.
The Minister explained that this step comes as part of the final preparations for the official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, scheduled for July 3.
