Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States, met with US Special Envoy for Yemen, Tim Lenderking, in Riyadh on Thursday.

They discussed the latest events in Yemen during the meeting. The GCC Secretary General praised the US position, which called for an urgent halt to Houthi attacks on Marib, which are exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.

The two sides strongly condemned the Houthi militants' continuous use of ballistic missiles and explosive drones to attack the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which they say is a flagrant breach of international law and a threat to regional security and stability.

They also emphasised the importance of putting an end to the Houthi military's aggression on several fronts, as well as its atrocities against civilians and the displaced.

The two sides urged the militants to accept the Saudi ceasefire offer, participate in the peace process, and prioritise Yemen's and Yemenis' interests.
