Despite schools in Gaza being filled with displaced families and turned into makeshift shelters, the education system is making every possible effort to bring children back to learning.
Classrooms have lost all signs of formal education — desks have been replaced with mats on the floor, and the same rooms now serve both as shelter spaces and improvised learning areas.
In these difficult conditions, Palestinian teachers are striving to revive the spirit of education, delivering lessons and explaining the curriculum in hopes of helping students catch up on the material they missed during months of conflict.
However, the lack of basic educational infrastructure poses a serious challenge. Many classrooms are in complete darkness, have no blackboards, and students often sit on the ground, with only a few managing to find old chairs that have been repaired for reuse. Textbooks are also scarce, further complicating efforts to resume normal schooling.
Despite these hardships, teachers and students in Gaza remain determined to keep education alive, seeing it as a vital act of resilience amid destruction and displacement.
