The head of Gaza’s National Committee for the Administration of Gaza has hailed Egypt for its pivotal role in supporting the Palestinian people and safeguarding their right to return to the Gaza Strip from Egypt and other countries.
Ali Shaath said the committee recently met with travelers and patients moving through the Rafah border crossing and confirmed that procedures were proceeding smoothly. He noted that the committee reassured all individuals and monitored humanitarian arrangements on the ground.
Shaath expressed gratitude to the Egyptian leadership for what he described as sustained efforts to prevent the forced displacement of Palestinians and to guarantee their right of return from the diaspora. He said these efforts reflect Egypt’s long-standing commitment to the Palestinian national cause.
He added that the reopening of the Rafah crossing was the committee’s first priority following its formation through Arab, international, and factional consensus, stressing that the committee had fulfilled its pledge to facilitate the movement of Palestinians to and from Gaza.
