The US government spokesperson announced that the G7 countries have allocated $5 billion to ensure food security.

According to the US official, the leaders of the G7 countries will pledge to provide this amount to help solve the food supply problems that the world is suffering from for reasons, most notably the Ukrainian crisis.

The G7 countries held a summit near the resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the German state of Bavaria, which started from its meetings on June 26 and will continue until Tuesday.

The summit was attended by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, and the prime ministers of Britain, Canada, Italy, and Japan.

In the same vein, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson reiterated on Monday that the G7 leaders are united and determined to continue supporting Ukraine.

"The G7 must continue to help Ukrainians rebuild and protect themselves," Johnson said in an exclusive statement to BBC television on Monday.

“There is no deal Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky can really make, so under these circumstances, the G7 and Ukraine’s supporters around the world should continue to help Ukrainians rebuild their economy, export their grain, and protect themselves,” he added.

In addition to that, Johnson noted that the situation in southeastern Ukraine is still very difficult, but Kyiv has shown an amazing ability to repel and change the military situation.
