Fuel distribution in Tehran was temporarily suspended after several oil storage facilities and a petroleum products center in the Iranian capital were reportedly hit in attacks attributed to the United States and Israel, Iranian officials said.
According to Iran’s state news agency IRNA, Tehran Governor Mohammad Sadegh Motamedian stated that fuel distribution had been halted due to damage to the supply network following the strikes.
Israeli military officials confirmed targeting multiple fuel storage facilities in Tehran, claiming the sites were being used by Iran to support its military infrastructure.
The Israel Defense Forces said the attacks formed part of a broader effort to weaken Iran’s military capabilities.
In a statement posted on social media, the Israeli Air Force described the operation as a “major strike” that adds another layer of damage to Iran’s military infrastructure.
The statement added that Israeli forces would continue to act “with strength” to inflict significant damage on the Iranian regime and remove threats against Israel.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump warned on Saturday that additional military strikes against Iran could follow as the conflict, which began a week ago, continues to escalate.
In remarks shared on social media, the U.S. president said Iran could face further powerful attacks while additional targets are being considered.
Trump’s comments came hours after Masoud Pezeshkian, the president of Iran, stated that Tehran would halt attacks on neighboring countries as long as operations against Iran were not launched from their territories.
The developments highlight rising tensions in the region, as military exchanges and political warnings continue to escalate the confrontation involving Iran, Israel, and the United States.
