In May 2021, it was announced that Melinda French and Bill Gates, the billionaire and founder of the American company "Microsoft", had separated.

The news shocked the world, and since the announcement, neither of them spoke about the reasons that led to the end of a 27-year marriage, but Melinda French Gates decided to disclose this in an interview with "CBS Morning" TV program, Thursday.

Melinda said that their trust collapsed during her marriage to Bill Gates, which eventually led to their sudden porce.

The interview included Melinda's comment on her ex-husband's confession that he had an affair with a Microsoft employee in 2000, as she responded; "I certainly believe in forgiveness."

"It wasn't one moment or one specific thing that happened. There just came a point in time where there was enough there that I realized it just wasn't healthy, and I couldn't trust what we had," she continued.

"I had a lot of tears for many days, days where I'm literally on the floor ... thinking, 'How can this be? How can I get up? How am I going to move forward?" she added.

She said that she told her husband she was uncomfortable with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein after the couple met him together in 2013, stressing that Bell continued his relationship with him despite her concerns.

She did not want Bell to have meetings with Epstein, and that was the first reason why she wanted to separate from her husband, stressing that there are many things that led to their porce.

The couple established Bell and Melinda foundation when they were married, and build the biggest Charity organizations in the world.
