On Sunday, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that a CMA-CGM cargo plane took off from Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport, heading to southern Turkey, carrying nearly 45 tons of humanitarian and medical equipment to establish a field hospital to help the areas affected by the deadly earthquake that hit Syria and Turkey last Monday.

The Crisis and Support Center at the ministry confirmed, on "Twitter", that the civil field hospital left today on board a cargo plane from the CMA CGM group to transport goods, which France is publishing in solidarity with Turkey.

A spokesman for the CMA-CGM group confirmed, “In response to Turkey’s distress for international assistance, the plane was equipped with about 45 tons of medical equipment and humanitarian materials on board, which is sufficient to establish a large field hospital on an area of 1000 square meters and includes two operating rooms with a capacity of 100 patients per day, to provide urgent medical care to the injured.”

France stepped up its aid to Turkey and sent 45 rescuers, 42 firefighters, and marine firefighters, as well as doctors, surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and pharmacists who will operate the field hospital with the help of the Turks to provide urgent medical supplies.

The field hospital includes medical and humanitarian aid, including tents, oxygen tubes, generators, heaters, food, medicines, an equipped bathroom, and urgent medical equipment.

On February 7, France announced its intention to establish a field hospital on an area of approximately 2,000 square meters, with two operating rooms, a laboratory, and a pharmacy, in addition to rooms designated for childbirth and receiving the wounded.
