French President Emmanuel Macron announced the dispatch of urgent humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, as part of efforts to alleviate the severe humanitarian crisis facing Palestinians amid ongoing conflict and blockade.

In a post on the social media platform X, Macron said a cargo ship carrying humanitarian supplies had departed from the northern French port of Le Havre. He explained that the shipment was organized through coordinated efforts involving France’s Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the shipping company CMA CGM, and the World Food Programme.

France’s Foreign Ministry confirmed that the shipment weighs approximately 400 tons and consists mainly of essential food supplies aimed at addressing acute shortages inside Gaza.

The aid is particularly intended to support children, who are facing worsening levels of malnutrition as basic food access continues to deteriorate. Officials said the shipment is expected to reach Gaza within around ten days, pending logistical and access arrangements.
