Following Iran's attack on Israel and in anticipation of the Jewish Passover holiday, France's Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin has called for enhanced security measures outside places of worship and Jewish religious schools.

The minister has directed authorities to ensure a "constant and visible" police presence outside places of worship and buildings deemed "most sensitive or symbolic."

With the Jewish Passover holiday approaching from April 22 to 30, the minister specifically requested heightened attention to "gatherings traditionally attended by large crowds."

Additionally, the Interior Minister called for "placing static guards in front of religious schools starting Monday during student entry and exit times."

This decision comes amid "a very high level of terrorist threat," ongoing anti-Semitic acts at a high level, and continued tensions internationally, including Iran's attack on Israel over Saturday night and Sunday dawn.
