Foreign Ministry Announces Success of Efforts to Secure Safety of the Rest of Egyptian Soldiers in Sudan

The Arab Republic of Egypt announced the success of the efforts it made in coordination and cooperation with the sister country of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to secure the safety of the rest of the Egyptian soldiers in the Republic of Sudan with the Rapid Support Forces and to hand them over to the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Khartoum.

The two brotherly countries expressed their appreciation to the International Red Cross Committee (IRCC) for its efforts in supporting the process of ensuring the safety of Egyptian soldiers.

The Egyptian and Emirati foreign ministries stated that this step comes within the framework of the two countries position in support of the truce through continuous communication with the Sudanese parties to ensure restraint, stop escalation, and return to the political track.

The two ministries affirmed the commitment of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United Arab Emirates to continue their efforts aimed at stopping the fighting and protecting civilians and civilian facilities.

Egypt and the UAE stress the importance of intensifying efforts aimed at returning to the political framework and dialogue to resolve all differences and move forward in the transitional phase to reach the desired political and security stability in Sudan.
