Flyadeal Airlines announced that it has completed the country's first flight with a crew consisting of women only, in a step which is the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia.
A spokesman for the low-cost airline, "Adele", Imad Iskandarani, said that the flight linked the capital, Riyadh, to the western coastal city of Jeddah, on Thursday, adding that all members of the crew, consisting of seven persons, were Saudis, except the pilot, without specifying her nationality, according to French "Le Figaro" newspaper.
The Saudi Civil Aviation Authority, which confirmed the news, and is affiliated with the Saudi National Airlines, expressed its happiness with the support for the participation of women in this field.
