Dr. Badr Abdel Atty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, received on Monday, Muhannad Hadi, UN Deputy Special Coordinator, Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process.

The meeting witnessed a discussion of the most prominent developments related to the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip.

During the meeting, FM stressed Egypt's support for the efforts of the Humanitarian Coordinator, especially at this time when the Gaza Strip is witnessing a severe humanitarian disaster, expressing Egypt's condemnation of the Israeli measures in the northern Gaza Strip, and all the obstacles it imposes on the entry of humanitarian aid into the Strip, its targeting of humanitarian workers, and attempts to undermine the work and liquidate the activities of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

Moreover, FM was keen to review the most prominent efforts undertaken by Egypt to intensify the pace of humanitarian aid entering the Strip, stressing the need to enable all UN agencies to assume their responsibilities in this regard.

Furthermore, Abdel Atty was keen to learn from the UN official his vision of the situation in Gaza, the nature of the challenges facing UN institutions and his assessment of the humanitarian situation in the Strip, especially in the north, in light of the Israeli military measures, expressing Egypt's categorical rejection of any attempts to displace the residents of Gaza Strip.
