FM, Ugandan counterpart discuss bilateral relations

Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Abroad Affairs, made a phone call with Jeje Odongo, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uganda, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two sides and consult on a number of regional issues of concern to the African continent.

Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that Abdel Aty conveyed during the call the greetings and appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to President Yoweri Museveni.

Abdel Aty also expressed Egypt’s keenness to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and develop them in various political, economic and development fields.

During the call, the two ministers consulted and exchanged views on a number of issues of concern to the two countries, especially in light of the challenges facing the African continent, and the pivotal role that the two countries play in supporting peace, security and stability in the continent.

 Abdel Aty also discussed Egypt’s recent announcement of launching an investment mechanism to support development in the Nile Basin countries to support development projects, infrastructure projects, and water projects in the Southern Nile Basin countries.
