The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that a phone call took place on Saturday, between Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates' Affairs, and Hussein Al-Sheikh, Palestinian Deputy Prime Minister (PM).

The phone talks came within the framework of ongoing coordination and consultation between the two sides regarding developments in Palestine and efforts to solidify the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Agreement and ensure its implementation.

Tamim Khallaf, official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the call addressed the ongoing consultations regarding the draft resolution at the UN Security Council concerning developments in Gaza and security arrangements.

Both sides emphasized the importance of ensuring that the resolution contributes to solidifying the end of the war and creating the conditions for achieving a just and comprehensive peace that fulfills the aspirations of the Palestinian people and their right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state.

In this context, Abdelatty referred to the statement issued yesterday, November 14, which reflected support for the adoption of the aforementioned UN Security Council draft resolution, pointing to the regional and international consensus on moving forward with the implementation of the plan launched during the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, which provides a practical path for Palestinian self-determination and the establishment of the Palestinian State, thus anchoring peace and stability across the entire region.

Moreover, Abdelatty reviewed with Al-Sheikh the ongoing preparations for convening the International Conference for Early Recovery and Reconstruction of Gaza, pointing to the importance of mobilizing regional and international support to ensure the effective implementation of the early recovery and reconstruction plan.

Furthermore, the two sides agreed to continue close consultation and coordination during the coming period in support of the rights of the Palestinian people and efforts to achieve lasting and just peace.
