FM, Iraqi Parl't Speaker Discuss Boosting Bilateral Cooperation

Egypt's Foreign Minister (FM) Sameh Shoukry received Wednesday, Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mohamed al-Halbousi at the ministry's headquarters in Cairo. 

They discussed ways to strengthen various frameworks of close cooperation, whether bilaterally, or via the tripartite cooperation mechanism with Jordan, in a way that meets the aspirations of peoples towards prosperity and development.

"The meeting between Shoukry and Al-Halbousi dealt with the role entrusted to parliamentary diplomacy as a major component in boosting the established brotherly and popular bonds between the two brotherly countries and peoples," Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez tweeted.

They also discussed ways to coordinate positions on different regional issues, in a way to preserve Arab national security and strengthening the pillars of regional stability, the spokesman added.
