Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said growing regional and international challenges call for intensified consultations between President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
In an interview with Egypt’s Channel One, Abdelatty described Egypt-Qatar ties as strong and evolving, with shared efforts to address urgent regional issues, particularly the deteriorating humanitarian crisis in Gaza. He noted that Egypt, Qatar, and the United States are closely coordinating to end attacks on civilians and ensure aid reaches the Palestinian population.
On the economic front, the minister said Egypt’s infrastructure development and investor-friendly environment have encouraged greater interest from Qatari private sector companies. President Sisi recently attended a business forum in Doha where investment opportunities in agriculture, industry, renewable energy, real estate, and tourism were discussed.
He added that several major projects and deals will soon be announced, reflecting Qatar’s intent to expand its investments in Egypt. Abdelatty also confirmed continued joint efforts by Cairo and Doha to restore the ceasefire agreement reached on January 19, stressing that the escalation in Gaza must end to prevent further civilian casualties.
