Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed a message from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to Félix Tshisekedi, President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, this morning, Friday.
The message included President El-Sisi and Egypt's appreciation for the strong bilateral relations with DRC, and Egypt's pride in the historical relationship between the two countries and leaderships, with an invitation to visit Cairo in the near future.
Abdel Ati also conveyed President El-Sisi's directives regarding Egypt's aspirations to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries, which contributes to deepening the distinguished relations and achieving common political, economic, commercial and water interests.
He briefed the Congolese President on the results of his discussions with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the agreements that were signed, in addition to arranging to hold the joint committee as soon as possible, and establishing a joint business council.
He also affirmed Egypt's full support for all ongoing development projects in the DRC, especially in the sectors of energy, agriculture, irrigation, transportation, infrastructure and medicine.
On his part, Tshisekedi expressed his deep pride in the historical bilateral relations with Egypt, and the relationship that unites him with President Sisi.
He stressed his keenness to accept the invitation to visit Egypt at the earliest opportunity, stressing that Egypt is a sister country, and that he seeks to push bilateral relations to broader horizons in various fields, including trade, investment and development. He also appreciated the full support that Egypt provides to his country in the development process.
