Egypt's Foreign Minister (FM) Sameh Shoukry, chaired, on Sunday the meeting of the standing committee for follow-up on Egyptian-African relations, according to Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez.
The meeting, chaired by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was attended by representatives of the various ministries and relevant governmental bodies as well as the private sector.

During the meeting, Shoukry affirmed Egypt’s firm position to give political priority to advancing and developing Egypt's relations with African countries, in light of the historic ties and common strategic interests that link Egypt with the countries of the continent, within the framework of mutual respect and mutual benefit.
Moreover, FM underlined the necessity to coordinate and strengthen national efforts to continue the active movement on the African arena and advance bilateral ties with various countries and regions across the continent, in different fields of common interests.
In addition, Shoukry stressed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through its diplomatic missions abroad, gives priority to national companies and Egyptian private sector institutions to facilitate their access to African countries' markets, as well as to boost trade exchange and economic cooperation with the continent's countries.
He also affirmed Egypt's commitment to continue training and capacity-building activities for African cadres in various fields within the framework of solidarity, brotherhood, and the desired integration.
