First lady Melania Trump recounted her personal experience with the Coronavirus on Wednesday, saying that her son Barron, 14, tested positive for COVID-19 but “exhibited no symptoms” after both of his parents contracted the virus.

“Naturally my mind went immediately to our son,” the first lady wrote in an article published on the White House website, after her and US president’s diagnosis.

“My fear came true when he was tested again and it came up positive,” the first lady announced that Barron tested negative at the beginning but it came up positive when he was tested for the second time.

“Luckily he is a strong teenager and exhibited no symptoms,” the first lady continued.

She also mentioned her symptoms, indicating that they were “minimal…though they hit me all at once and it seemed to be a roller coaster of symptoms in the days after.”

“I experienced body aches, a cough and headaches, and felt extremely tired most of the time. She continued. “I chose to go a more natural route in terms of medicine, opting more for vitamins and healthy food.”

She also expressed her gratitude that three of them experienced all of that together, “In one way I was glad the three of us went through this at the same time so we could take care of one another and spend time together.”

Donald Trump also spoke about his son as he told a rally in Des Moines, Iowa, on Wednesday evening, that Barron “is just fine now” calling his son "beautiful" and "free".

"(Barron) had it for such a short period of time," Trump said. “I don’t even think he knew he had it, because they’re young and their immune systems are strong and they fight it off.”
