The civil protection forces in Cairo succeeded in controlling a burning fuel-laden tanker after it collided with a truck loaded with bricks on the Autostrad.
Up to 6 fire trucks were dispatched to the scene, and the raging fire was brought under control, sources said.
A force from the May 15 Police Department went to the scene, and while they were inspecting the incident, they were hit by a speeding car.
As a result, a police officer was killed, and the chief of investigations, and 5 others, including 3 policemen, were wounded.
They were immediately transferred to Helwan General Hospital and Military Production Hospital, after sustaining minor injuries.
