Egypt’s Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Finance and the Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC), aimed at strengthening joint efforts to support economic and financial policies and improve public services through advanced technological and research capabilities.
The agreement was signed by Osama El-Gohary, Assistant to the Prime Minister and Head of the IDSC, and Ahmed Abdelrazek, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, in the presence of senior officials from both institutions.
Kouchouk said the coming period will see a broad partnership with the IDSC to support economic and fiscal policies while advancing administrative simplification, service improvement, and communication with citizens and investors.
He noted that the ministry aims to benefit from the center’s strong research expertise to analyze and measure the real-world impact of government initiatives, ensuring continued improvement in tax, customs, and real estate services.
The minister stressed the importance of leveraging technological capabilities to develop and streamline digital services provided to citizens and the business community, adding that the government seeks to enhance public engagement through clearer communication, continuous follow-up, and evaluation to ensure sustained service development.
Kouchouk said the cooperation is guided by a unified vision aimed at achieving a positive impact on Egypt’s economic and financial conditions and stimulating investment.
For his part, El-Gohary said deploying the center’s research and technological capabilities to serve decision-makers is among the IDSC’s top priorities, noting that the center seeks to direct its expertise toward supporting policymakers and contributing to improvements in public policies and services.
He described the IDSC as one of the government’s strongest research institutions, employing around 400 specialists in economics, political science, and information technology. The center provides decision-makers with up-to-date data and analytical studies to support policymaking across various sectors.
El-Gohary added that the Finance Ministry has adopted a forward-looking approach to cooperation, allowing the ministry to benefit from the center’s research and technological capabilities as well as its extensive outreach to citizens through official digital platforms.
He said the IDSC aims to expand similar cooperation agreements with other ministries and government bodies as part of efforts to strengthen its role as a center of excellence and a service provider for the government.
