Egyptian visual artist and former Minister of Culture Farouk Hosny won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Joy Awards, recognizing his longstanding contributions to art and culture across the Arab world.
The award was presented by Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, during a ceremony in Riyadh attended by prominent figures from the cultural, media and entertainment sectors.
Hosny is regarded as one of the leading figures of modern Arab art and a key advocate for cultural development and artistic expression at both regional and international levels. The honor highlights his enduring influence and creative legacy spanning several decades.
In his acceptance remarks, Hosny thanked Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz for his continued support of culture and the arts, and expressed appreciation to Alalshikh for the recognition, calling it a tribute to a lifetime devoted to creativity.
