Helwan University has launched new mechanisms for the "distance learning" system in the Faculties of Arts to activate the digital transformation system.

It will also provide an alternative for students to receive their lectures and communicate with their teachers, after the decision to suspend the study for two weeks, to limit the spread of the new Coronavirus.

The university, headed by Dr. Majed Najm, and the deans of technical colleges, confirmed that the activation of the "distance education" system is carried out by offering electronic courses on the university's website, colleges' websites and social media.

Distance learning methods in technical colleges "Faculties of Arts":

Dr. Maysoon Qutb, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts, said the university applied the distance education system through:

• Putting all theoretical and practical academic courses, and making groups for all scientific subjects, whether on social media (Whatsapp or Facebook) for communication between faculty members with students.

• Raising the decisions of the study teams by 83% due to the specialized nature of the college study electronically, as the means of communication between teachers and students varied between videos that are broadcast on YouTube, as well as Google Classroom.

Scientific material uploaded to Google Drive as a method of direct communication.

Dr. Mahmoud Hamid, Dean of the Faculty of Art Education, applied distance learning through:

• Using the college website, where some theoretical courses are uploaded.

• Using social media sites such as Facebook and WhatsApp to interact between students and faculty members.

• The availability of downloading some videos and making the lecture live and downloading some theoretical material pdf also for easy handling, through the above-mentioned social platforms.

The College of Fine Arts uses its site to provide academic content for faculty members, as well as various social networking sites for undergraduate and postgraduate students in that period.

The College of Music Education also launched a YouTube channel to teach students remotely, for doctoral and master's degrees, as well as the diploma stage, the preparatory group, and all study teams.

The university adopted this move so that students can follow their curriculum in addition to making groups of students to communicate directly with the faculty.
