Various internal teams at Facebook are looking to provide live-audio chat products that can ultimately compete with the Clubhouse app, according to Bloomberg.
Sources told the agency, that among the potential products is "Messenger Rooms", a video chat feature that Facebook introduced last year to compete with the "Zoom" video chat.
Messenger Rooms allows you to create a room right from Messenger or Facebook, and invite anyone to join your video call, even if they don’t have a Facebook account. Rooms will soon hold up to 50 people with no time limit.
Another team is looking into interactive voice services within a group of testing new products for Facebook, including new and independent applications and services for the company.
The sources noted that the efforts regarding live-audio chat products are still in their very early beginnings, and the company's plans are likely to change.
