A European statement issued on Monday stressed the urgent need to ensure the rapid, safe, and unobstructed delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians in the Gaza Strip, amid worsening living conditions and mounting humanitarian pressures.

The statement warned that the situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate, particularly as winter conditions intensify hardship for displaced families. Many civilians remain without adequate shelter, access to healthcare, clean water, or education services, deepening concerns over an escalating humanitarian emergency.

European officials emphasized that humanitarian assistance must reach those in need without delay or political interference, calling for full respect of international humanitarian law. They underlined that aid delivery should not be subject to restrictions that could hinder lifesaving operations or limit access to vulnerable populations.

The statement also highlighted the critical role played by international humanitarian organizations, stressing that their ability to operate freely and sustainably is essential to preventing further civilian suffering. European leaders warned that obstacles facing aid groups could severely undermine relief efforts and worsen conditions on the ground.

In addition, the statement reaffirmed European support for international efforts aimed at stabilizing the situation and moving toward a broader political solution. It stressed the importance of coordinated international action to protect civilians and prevent further deterioration of the humanitarian landscape.

As the crisis continues, the statement concluded that ensuring safe and continuous humanitarian access remains a moral and legal obligation, calling on all parties to facilitate aid delivery and uphold their responsibilities toward civilians affected by the conflict.
