The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, reaffirmed the bloc's strong and resolute rejection of all forms of practices that incite religious hatred.

This statement comes in response to the repeated attacks on the Holy Quran in Sweden and Denmark.

Borrell stated some individuals' actions in Europe have been offensive to many Muslims, emphasizing that respect for religious communities is a part of the European Union's values.

He further asserted that disrespecting the Quran or any other sacred text is a clear provocation, and underlined that while the European Union continues to support religious freedoms and freedom of expression both domestically and internationally, not everything that is legally permissible is morally acceptable.

Recently, an extremist right-wing Danish group called "Danish Nationalists" carried out a provocative act by burning copies of the Holy Quran in front of the Iranian and Iraqi embassies in Copenhagen.
