Ursula von der Leyen, President of European Commission, reaffirmed Europe's support for the ceasefire in Gaza.
Writing on X, she stated: "Romi Jounen, Emily Damari, and Doron Steinbrecher are free. Others must follow."
She added, "Seeing the reunion of hostages with their families fills our hearts with hope. Let this mark the beginning of a new chapter for Israel and the Palestinian people."
Israeli media reported that Romi Jounen (24) from Kfar Vradim, Emily Damari (28) from Kfar Gaza, and Doron Steinbrecher (31) from Kfar Gaza were released on Sunday.
Thousands of Israelis gathered in Tel Aviv Square alongside the families of the hostages, awaiting the return of those freed by Palestinian factions in Gaza after 471 days of war.
Meanwhile, sources from Hamas stated that the Al-Qassam Brigades handed over the three detainees to the Red Cross at the Saraya area in Gaza City as part of the exchange deal.
