PRIMA is the Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area. PRIMA supports the sustainable management of water and food systems in the Mediterranean Area by pooling know-how and financial resources in a strategic research partnership between the EU and Participating States.
Its aim is to develop fully piloted and demonstrated joint innovative solutions that the Mediterranean region urgently needs.
These would help to make the water and food supply in the region more efficient, cost-effective and sustainable, and solve related problems.
The EU's contribution will be up to €325 (2017 – 2031) while the Participating States contribution is approximately €384 million for the same period.
