European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen cancelled her work plans after her driver tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday.

Von der Leyen was supposed to attend this week’s European Parliament plenary in Strasbourg. Now, she is isolating at home.

“Regretfully, I must therefore cancel my participation to the @Europarl_EN plenary,” the president wrote on Twitter, noting that she was returning to Brussels.

A spokesman said that von der Leyen had traveled to Strasbourg by car, and was returning to Brussels by car as well.

On the other hand, Joint Chiefs Chairman Mark Milley tested positive for COVID-19 but is continuing to work remotely as he experiences "very minor symptoms," his spokesperson said Monday.

"Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley is working remotely and isolating himself from contact with others after a positive COVID-19 test yesterday," Joint Staff spokesperson Col. Dave Butler said in a statement.

"He is experiencing very minor symptoms and can perform all of his duties from the remote location," Butler continued. "He has received the COVID-19 vaccines including the booster."
