Eric Abidal Denies Death Rumors

Barcelona legend Eric Abidal denied the recent rumours of his death, describing them as fake news.

Abidal said on his social media, "Official statement. Some rumors should never exist. I am here with my family and everything is fine. Respect is necessary."

He added, "Behind me are my family and children. To be clear, I am fine, alive and healthy. I appreciate your messages of support and concern. Let’s focus on what truly matters."

Recently on social media, rumors circulated that Abidal underwent surgery due to complications after a long battle with liver cancer.

The fans of the French player were so worried as he once underwent a liver resection and a liver transplant during his career.

Abidal overcame liver cancer in 2011 and returned to play for more than three years, and he also recovered from a liver transplant during a season.
