Today, Sunday, November 13, Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the involvement of a woman in the Istiklal Street attack, in Taksim Square in Istanbul.

The Turkish president stressed that his government will punish those behind the attack, considering that the Istanbul explosion was a "despicable attack."

During his speech on the Istanbul explosion, Erdogan confirmed that 6 people were killed and more than 50 were injured in the Istanbul explosion.

He noted that work is still underway to identify the perpetrators of the "heinous attack."

An explosion took place this afternoon on Istiklal Street, one of the streets of Taksim Square in Istanbul, which is one of the lively cities in Turkey and is famous for its many shops, and many tourists flock to it.

Some footage showed some people falling to the ground after the explosion, the cause of which was not immediately clear, and the severity of the injuries sustained by these people was not known until now. Social media users mentioned that the street and shops were closed.

The "NTV" channel reported that the explosion occurred shortly after 4:00 pm (1300 GMT) and said there were "wounded".
