Emirates Breaks Guinness Records with Most Nationalities on Board

Marking the 48th UAE National Day and the Year of Tolerance, 145 nationalities came together to set  Guinness World Record on Emirates flight EK2019.

The flight included passengers from different backgrounds, ethnicity, religion and cultures dressed up in their traditional clothes, honoring their different heritages.

The flight left Dubai International Airport and headed for Sharjah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain heading east through Ras Al Khaimah and on wings to Fujairah and then to Al Ain and Abu Dhabi before landing in Dubai.

Led by Flight Jafar Hamad, the crew of 22 people from 18 different countries flew for about an hour and a half at an altitude of 7,000 feet.

Just before descent, an official adjudicator from the Guinness World Records, who was on-board verifying nationality counts, officially announced that the flight was a new Guinness World Record title for most nationalities on an aircraft (145 nationalities).

Immediately before landing, Guinness World Records, which was on board, verified the nationality of passenger coming from 145 different countries, officially announcing that the flight was a new record.

During the disembarkation, a record ceremony was held in front of the aircraft; a group photo was taken with all 500 passengers in front of Emirates 'Year of Tolerance' A380.

Emirates is an airline based in Dubai and is a subsidiary of The Emirates Group, which is owned by the government of Dubai's Investment Corporation.

It is the largest airline in the Middle East, operating over 3,600 flights weekly to more than 150  destinations in 80 countries worldwide.
