Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, received Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affairs, during his visit to the Qatari capital, Doha.
Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration said that Abdel Aty praised during the meeting the qualitative shift witnessed in Egyptian-Qatari relations during the past two years.
The official spokesman added that the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration stressed the importance of continuing to strengthen bilateral relations in all fields, especially economic and investment, in light of the comprehensive renaissance and urban expansion that Egypt is witnessing, and the accompanying major projects that attract foreign investment.
Ambassador Abu Zeid explained that the meeting tackled the ongoing efforts of the two countries and their joint coordination to end the war in Gaza, in light of the consensus between the visions of the two countries aiming to reach an immediate ceasefire and ensure the continued access of humanitarian aid.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman added that Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, for his part, welcomed the rapid development witnessed by Egyptian-Qatari relations at all levels, which is reflected in the intensification of mutual consultation and coordination on all regional challenges.
