American rapper Eminem has made the day of his fans by surprising them with the release of his new album, "Music to Be Murdered By".
It features collaborations with Juice WRLD, Q-Tip, Ed Sheeran, Black Thought, Young M.A, and Anderson .Paak.
He dropped his latest album at midnight EST, which nobody, but the record label and the musicians involved, knew was coming.
Eminem’s last album "Kamikaze" was similarly released as a surprise album in 2018, which featured a song called “Fall” that dissed Earl Sweatshirt and insulted Tyler, the Creator, with a homophobic slur.
“Fall” featured a contribution from Justin Vernon, who openly expressed his disapproval of the song’s message.
Eminem later walked back his verse about Tyler, saying he felt it went “too far.”
The new album featured a song called “No Regrets,” which Eminem once again references both rappers with a more apologetic tone.
The verse goes as such: “Thinking I run ****/Misplacing my anger enough to give Earl and Tyler, the Creator the brunt/Should’ve never made a response, should’ve just aimed for the fake ones and traitorous punks.”
The album cover artwork, which shows Eminem with a shovel and in a fedora (above), is a direct homage to the artwork of Alfred Hitchcock’s album that is also called "Music to Be Murdered By".
Hitchcock is also featured on Eminem’s album, which also came accompanied by a music video for the song “Darkness,”.
