EMA Warns of Sharp Nighttime Temperature Drop Across Egypt

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority has warned of a noticeable drop in temperatures during nighttime and the early morning hours, urging citizens to take precautions, particularly in open and mountainous areas. The authority noted that colder conditions will be most pronounced after sunset and before sunrise.

In Cairo, nighttime temperatures are expected to fall to around 12 degrees Celsius, while daytime highs will reach approximately 20 degrees. Similar conditions are forecast in surrounding areas, including the New Administrative Capital and 6th of October City, where minimum temperatures are expected to dip to 8 degrees.

The coldest conditions nationwide are forecast in Saint Catherine, where temperatures are expected to drop to just 3 degrees Celsius overnight, marking the lowest readings of the day across the country.

In the Nile Delta and Lower Egypt, temperatures will remain mild during the day but noticeably colder at night. Cities such as Damanhour, Kafr El-Sheikh, Mansoura, Zagazig, Tanta, and Shebin El-Kom are expected to record minimum temperatures ranging between 10 and 12 degrees, with daytime highs hovering between 19 and 20 degrees.

The Meteorological Authority advised residents to dress warmly during evening and early morning hours, especially children and the elderly, as the cold conditions are expected to persist over the coming days.
