France is not ready to make concessions to Russia and wants Ukraine to win the war against the invading Russian forces and restore its territorial integrity, a Presidential official at Elysee palace said.

French President Emmanuel Macron has come under fire from Ukraine and its eastern European allies after published interviews on Saturday, quoted him saying that it is important not to "humiliate" Russia so that there could be a diplomatic solution when the fighting ends.

On Friday, French President Emmanuel Macron, in a phone call with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, affirmed France’s readiness to meet Ukraine’s needs in terms of military and economic support, according to Russia today.

The French presidency said that the French president asked the Ukrainian president about the latest developments in Ukraine, and about his needs for military equipment, political support, financial support and humanitarian aid.

The French presidency explained that Macron had told his counterpart Zelensky that France would remain ready to meet Ukraine’s needs, including heavy weapons.

The two presidents also agreed to continue contacts, in particular with regard to the possibility that the European Commission will submit Ukraine’s application to join the European Union.

Noteworthy, Putin commented on Washington’s decision to send new weapons to Ukraine, saying, “We cracked these weapons like nuts,” and destroyed dozens of them.

In statements to “Russia 1” channel, Putin said that “the Russian anti-aircraft forces destroyed Ukrainian weapons and cracked them like nuts,” confirming the destruction of dozens of them.

Putin warned that Russian forces would destroy any weapons that Washington sends to Ukraine.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree imposing sanctions against Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to Russia Today.
