CEO of "Twitter" and the founder of "Tesla" and "SpaceX" Elon Musk stressed the importance of the US justice system treating Democrats and Republicans equally.
“To avoid losing the trust of the American public, it is important that our justice system pursue Democrats and Republicans with equal vigor. Whichever party most puts justice before nepotism is the one that deserves trust,” Musk wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.
This came in response to a tweet by Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer, who expressed confidence that the former US president would be tried fairly, stressing the inadmissibility of any external influence on the justice system and the need for all protests to be peaceful.
This comes against the background of the first appearance of former President Donald Trump before the court in New York in the context of the case related to his team paying money to porn star Stormy Daniels in exchange for her silence about her relationship with him.
Trump was charged with 34 different criminal charges over financial violations, all of which the former US president denied.
