On Monday, Elena Panova, the UN Resident Coordinator in Egypt, expressed her happiness for participating in the fourth edition of the World Youth Forum (WYF).
Sharing a photo with the participants of the annual forum on Twitter, Panova wrote: "I am happy to be attending the 4th edition of the World Youth Forum in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, under the auspices of H.E. President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi."
Earlier, Egypt’s President El-Sisi launched this year’s edition of the WYF in Egypt’s coastal city Sharm El-Sheikh in the presence of hundreds of attendees from different countries, including heads of state, high-ranking officials, and international youth representatives.
The annual forum, which aims to bring the world’s youth and nations’ builders together to promote dialogue and discuss development issues, returned this week after a one-year pause due to the coronavirus pandemic and will be running from 10 -13 January.
The forum also aims to position itself as an influential, long-lasting global collaboration network.
