Shadie El Shafie, the head of the Russian-Egyptian Foundation for Culture and Science, said that the conference on the 80th anniversary of the strategic partnership between both countries marks an important timing in the international scene and in the light of the increasing partnership between Egypt and Russia.
El Shafie added in his speech that the ties between both countries significantly boosted in the past 10 years in various fields, including energy and grains.
He also asserted the importance of directing the mutual economic ties to be based on local currencies between Egypt and Russia.
The official highlighted that the Russians welcomed providing wheat to Egypt in local currencies.
He added that Egypt targets enhancing industry, and Russian technology, in addition to increasing the mutual trade with Moscow.
